GivingTuesday 2020

Today for GivingTuesday, we unite for a celebration of generosity and kindness.

I’m so excited to support the Laundromat Project, an arts organization that supports arts and neighbors as change agents in their communities. The Laundromat Project advances artists and elevates the local economy through supporting artists. Together we envision a world in which artists and neighbors in communities of color work together to unleash the power of creativity to transform lives.

GivingTuesday is a day when people around the world come together and give time, money, goods, and advocacy to support our local and global communities. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good and celebrate generosity.

Did you know that the act of generosity unites people of all races, faiths, and political views across the globe and provides us the power to make a positive difference in the lives of others?

There are so many ways for us to join in this global movement for unity and give back:

  • Provide a financial contribution to your favorite cause or organization
  • Use Social Media to spread the word for your favorite organizations and causes (hashtag #GivingTuesday )
  • Donate goods or extra supplies to local shelters or organizations requesting those items
  • Share gratitude and support for your local frontline workers
  • Use your skills to support an organization or cause

I have a master’s degree in Arts Management and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Music. Because I have spent the last few decades in the arts world, I know how crucial it is to support the arts community to help the community-at-large. I believe that we are only as strong as the communities around us. This is why I’m giving back to an organization like the Laundromat Project.

Over the past 15 years, the Laundromat Project has invested over $1M in artists, neighbors, and projects within communities of color across NYC. The Laundromat Project works to equip, empower, and embolden artists and neighbors to serve as creative change agents in their own communities.

How will you give back this #GivingTuesday?
